Peanut butter and I go really well together. If I could eat it every single day; with a spoon straight from the jar I would definitely do it. But well, #fitnesslife also need to be lived. That’s why I create a crazy treat on Saturday. This time you can meet my ‘Peanut butter pancake stack’..
THE PEANUT BUTTER #FITGIRL STRIKES AGAIN
And this time with a big#$ass stack filled with the best chocolates – mimi Reese’s peanut butter cups, gluten free brownies, KitKat chunky bars and hazelnut balls – and drizzled in peanut butter. Yep, this must be a Saturday.
I got inspired by my favorite peanut butter bar in the world called ‘The Peanut Butter Bar’ and is based in Sydney, Australia. A few years ago I went there and ate the best peanut butter-Reese’s-filled-birthday cake and a delicious peanut butter protein shake. But last week I saw this crazy peanut butter pancake tower filled with Reese’s chocolate.
So I tried to recreate it. And yes, I think it worked out very well. The taste was a straight 10 out of 10. I bought the pancakes at the Albert Heijn – a grocery store in the Netherlands – and they are called the ‘spelt-banana- pancakes’. These pancakes are for real my favorites ever.
HOW DID I BUILT THIS PEANUT BUTTER PANCAKE TOWER?
First you need to buy all the required groceries, like:
- Pancakes of choice (I used 8 little pancakes to make this tower – 2 packages. Of course you can make some fresh pancakes yourself. I’m not the best at that)
- Your favorite chocolates (I used Reese’s peanut butter cups, gluten free brownies, KitKat chunky salted caramel + hazelnut balls)
- A big jar of peanut butter (400 grams)
- Satay skewer (long one to hold the tower all together)
After that it’s quite simple: just layer the tower one pancake at a time. On every pancake I put a lot of peanut butter. Just because it was Saturday. You can also choose to mix Nutella for example and peanut butter together. But I leave it up to you. Every layer has a little bit of consistency: first a layer with a brownie, after that a KitKat salted caramel layer and the one after that has hazelnut balls on it. I repeated that again and on tip I ‘sprinkled’ a lot of Reese’s peanut butter mini cups. THE BEST.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did, my fellow peanut butter lovers. You try it for yourself.
If you are a real PB-lover by heart you will not regret this decision to recreate it.
Until the next girls, x
